Therapy is an investment.

Not all that glitters is gold; the same goes for therapy costs. Just because a co-pay is easy on the wallet doesn't guarantee top-notch therapy. Many insurance-accepting therapists juggle massive caseloads of over 30 clients a week, leaving them burnt out and unable to provide the attention clients truly need.

Enter Space to Reflect, where we redefine therapy quality. Our commitment to excellence stems from therapists who are not burnt out, thanks to fair compensation that allows them to prioritize client care.

Choosing insurance comes with its own set of trade-offs:

  • A lower fee may come at the cost of a longer wait time for therapy.

  • Insurance mandates a diagnosis code, potentially exposing your therapy details.

  • Therapist notes may be required for continued insurance coverage.

  • Specialized care, like couples therapy, might be excluded from coverage.

  • There could be limits on the number of covered sessions or pre-authorization requirements.

Opting for private pay unlocks a world of advantages:

  • While the fee may be higher, immediate therapy availability is a game-changer with smaller caseloads.

  • Escape the mental health diagnosis on your medical records.

  • Enjoy the freedom to choose the therapist that aligns best with your needs, unrestricted by insurance networks.

  • Embrace flexibility in treatment duration, tailoring your therapeutic journey to your unique pace.

Space to Reflect, we believe in transparency and ensuring that you have a clear understanding of the financial aspects of your therapeutic journey. That's why we provide a Good Faith Estimate, a commitment to open communication and fairness in our billing process. This estimate offers you a comprehensive overview of the anticipated costs associated with your therapy sessions, including session fees, potential insurance coverage, and any other relevant expenses. We understand that navigating the financial aspects of therapy can be a concern, and our commitment to providing a Good Faith Estimate reflects our dedication to making this process as accessible and manageable as possible. Your well-being is our priority, and we want you to focus on your healing journey with confidence and peace of mind.

INSURANCE

Space to Reflect is a boutique private practice. We are committed to providing the highest level of care for our clients. This is why we do not work with insurance companies. When insurance companies are involved, we are limited in a number of ways. We have to assign a diagnosis, we are limited to a certain number of sessions, and may have to share the details of sessions for reimbursement. These limitations prevent us from focusing on what is most important: the client.

We have partnered with Mentaya to help clients use their out-of-network benefits to save money on therapy. Use this tool below to see if you qualify for reimbursement for services.

PAYMENT

We use a HIPAA-compliant EHR for virtual sessions and storing your personal information securely. When you make an appointment, you will put a credit card on file. This card will be charged after every session. We accept Health or Flex Savings Plans to pay for services as we are able to directly charge cards associated with your employer sponsored HSA or FSA account.

We are a provider for various therapy funds which have helped clients pay for therapy either fully or partially. Here is a list of therapy funds we work with and we are always open to working with more:

The Hibiscus Rose Therapy Fund

Black Liberation Therapy Fund

The Mental Health Fund for QTBIPOC
