Queer Women of Color Group Therapy
Registration is Open for the Winter Round. Email to sign up!
Hi! I’m Jasmine & I’m a therapist who will be running this group. I’m a second-generation queer Indian woman and feel passionate about creating a support group for queer women of color whose intersectional experiences may be less acknowledged or ignored in the larger queer and POC communities. Navigating queer identity as women of color can be extremely difficult but also an incredibly fulfilling experience. I created this group so that women with these identities have a place to come together, share their experiences, and grow from each other. By sharing our journeys, I hope to empower you to reach your fullest potential and feel more confident in your identities. Queer women can often feel hidden in their larger POC communities, but this group is a place where we will authentically acknowledge each other and process the strengths and difficulties that come along with belonging to multiple minority groups. I am incredibly passionate about uplifting and supporting queer women of color and want this group to be a brave space. Growing up, I would have loved to see a group like this in my community, so I am very excited to be leading this group. Join me on this 8 week journey, we can grow together!

How will this group benefit me?
· This group is designed for 24-30 y/o individuals who identify as queer women of color.
· This group will provide you with a safe space to share your thoughts when it comes to unique experiences of being queer women of color.
· Learn and gain support from others who share your identities but may have different or similar journeys as you.
· Learn to balance embracing your individuality and honor the values of your POC communities.
· Figure out how to maintain a healthy connection with your family while also feeling confident to create a life that feels authentic to you.
I've never been in a processing group, what should I expect?
· Expect to be in a physical space depending on group preference with 5-6 other individuals who also identify as queer women of color.
· This group will be discussion based where we will be sharing our stories, providing support for each other, and discussing ways of living authentically in spaces that may diminish or uplift our identities.
· Although there is structure to each session, what is discussed in each session is subject to change depending on the group member and what people are sharing out. This flexibility allows for maximum group and individual development.
